BYD and Mediawan partner to launch the new Miraculous Chibi episode "Watt a dream date!"

02 June 2026  BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new-energy vehicles, and Mediawan, the leading independent and multi-award-winning European studio, are proud to unveil the first creative project born from their strategic partnership: a special episode from the Miraculous Chibi series. Part of the globally-acclaimed Miraculous franchise from Miraculous Corp, this exclusive episode is available worldwide on YouTube starting today.

Miraculous Chibi is a short-form animated comedy series designed for Miraculous fans everywhere. The non-verbal, slapstick micro-series brings Ladybug, Cat Noir, their friends, and a host of new characters into a high-energy, expressive format built for digital consumption and global shareability. It was launched in 2019 with a first batch of 10 episodes. The 52x4' new season is out since December 2025 with more than 1.1 million subscribers and 350 million views globally on YouTube (+132% increase YoY). 

A true global cultural phenomenon that has received more than 40 international awards, Miraculous has established itself over the past decade as the most powerful French animation franchise in the world. Produced by Miraculous Corp, a joint venture between Mediawan and ZAG, the series created by Thomas Astruc, Jérémy Zag and Nathanaël Bronn was born in Paris, the story’s central character. 

With six seasons, a seventh currently in production, several spin-offs and a feature film, Miraculous is now broadcast in more than 150 territories. The franchise is also a major digital phenomenon, with more than 60 million followers on all social media (50M subscribers on YouTube, 1.5 billion views on TikTok with 7.5M followers and 220M likes, 1 billion gameplays on Roblox) and 54 billion views on YouTube.

Mediawan and BYD companies have developed since January collaborations that integrate the BYD brand in various ways across Mediawan Group productions. This includes featuring BYD vehicles in upcoming flagship projects, such as the “Miraculous®” theatrical feature film for the globally loved franchise and the development of original formats inspired by the BYD brand. The ambition though this unique partnership is to grow one of the world’s largest kids & family digital ecosystems, deepen fan engagement across every platform, and create new ways for audiences to watch, learn, create, and connect with the Miraculous universe every day.

In the playful and colourful world of Miraculous Chibi, Marinette is determined to arrive on time for her date with Adrien thanks to her BYD city electric car, the BYD DOLPHIN SURF. But along the way, a series of unexpected mishaps and funny little obstacles turn her journey into a chaotic adventure. Through every twist, turn, and magical moment, the BYD becomes more than just a car — it helps Marinette keep moving forward and brings her one step closer to her perfect dream date.
