Christmas charity drive: BYD road trip raises money for good causes
- BYD takes a Christmas tour of Manchester and London to raise money for charitable causes
- Funds raised will be donated to the Felix Project and the Christie NHS Foundation

16 December 2025 BYD, the world’s leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, is embarking on a festive road trip – all in the name of raising money for good causes.
Travelling between London and Manchester, the trip will focus on charities based in each city. Donations will be raised for The Felix Project in London, and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.
The Felix Project is the largest food redistribution charity in London, gathering high quality surplus food and passing it on to over 1,200 community organisations – preventing food wastage while feeding those most in need.
The Christie Trust is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, covering Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, specialist surgery plus a range of support and diagnostic services. The Christie Trust looks after over 60,000 patients a year, serving not only Manchester but the whole country.
The trip will be undertaken by the SHARK 6 DMO pick-up, but with a truck that’s powered by BYD’s Super Hybrid system, producing 430bhp and 650Nm of torque – not to mention its towing capacity of 2,500kg – it’d be a shame for it to embark on this journey alone.
To truly show off the SHARK’s towing credentials – not to mention the sheer breadth of variety within BYD’s family – it will pull a DOLPHIN SURF, proudly on show in a festively decorated Plexiglass box. The brand’s entry level model in the UK, which starts from just £18,650, will prove to be light work for the SHARK 6, given its maximum 2,500kg towing weight.
From the 13th to 15th December, the duo will tour the sites of London taking in destinations like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral. The two-day tour in Manchester on the 16th and 17th will visit Piccadilly Gardens and Chinatown, plus the Etihad, the home of Manchester City.
